More than just a popped collar

Im having a slight obsession with peter pan collars. They can provide an interesting addition to a simple design and really call attention to the wearer's face; plus regular collared shirts are getting a little tedious, I think. I recently ordered my own peter pan collared blouse from ASOS (they have a great selection) and am waiting eagerly for it to arrive. In the meantime I'll share some of my favorites, and what I would pair with them. Enjoy!

The Coveteur

I love coming across a new blog or website that inspires me. One that I recently discovered thanks to both Refinery 29 & Daily Candy is The Coveteur (http://www.thecoveteur.com/index.php). The site not only gives us a glimpse into the closets of the fashion elite, it also describes the path they took to get where they are today, which as someone who would love to work in that industry is truly inspiring. Charming Foreign Boys

Redefining TOMMY

My favorite part of the American sportswear aesthetic is how accessible it is to the masses. The Tommy Collection by Tommy Hilfiger for Spring 2011 is no exception. Completely revamping the line's image to more closely resemble it's iconic past, the Fall 2010 Collection helped Hilfiger reclaim his rightful spot in American sportswear royalty. While I loved the equestrian and quintessential preppy elements of his fall line, his spring line is much more feminine and on trend with the bright pops of color so prevalent this season. As someone who loves when fashion and comfort are mixed I can not wait until spring arrives so I can wear some of these pieces. Oh wait, I live in Arizona. Spring began almost 2 weeks ago. Well I guess I better get shopping!

Looking to lead my own visual life

Scott Schuman, from the famous fashion blog The Sartorialist, recently made a video with Intel Visual Life about the process of creating his blog. I've probably watched it 3 times in the past 24 hours. The video is full of amazing footage, and is narrated by the extremely eloquent Schuman. I love hearing his thoughts on his photo subjects and fashion today. I might be in love. Im now on the lookout for more of Intel's Visual Life videos, hopefully they are just as inspirational as this one. Enjoy!

Live Colorfully

I worship kate spade. If I could live in a colorful kate spade world, full of balloons and pinwheels and exquisitely designed clothing and accessories, I wouldn't think twice about leaving reality behind. All of the designs exude happiness, and for this, I thank Katherine Brosnahan (and of course Deborah Lloyd). Kate spade has always been famous for its unapologetically punchy and bright hues, featured in all the products. The most recent kate spade campaign premiers a new color each month, for the rest of the year! What a treat! January begins with red. Among the irresistible red collection, I am particularly coveting the Year of Color January ring and the Double Bow Studs.

Along with the selected red items, the website offers a customized print (available for purchase) and video collaborations. If all the videos are as brilliant and inspiring as January, I might just die of happiness. Enjoy this piece of heaven, it certainly made my day and I hope it makes yours!

Pop-Up Park

January in Arizona sounds ideal to almost anyone braving through a cold New York City winter. While I do enjoy the 70 degree sunny days, I still long to be bundled up in my favorite city. However this year, even New Yorker's can experience some of our mild weather with Openhouse Gallery's Pop-up park. With over 4,500 square feet, the faux park is complete with grass, trees, and even a small pond. They are even offering yoga classes (for a small fee of course, after all this is NYC we are talking about!) If I were in my beloved city I would hurry and take some refuge from the blistering cold before its too late. Like all good things, the park will only be open through January 30th. So to all my friends in New York, get a taste of home while you still can!
